The Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees Executive Committee (EB) invites the DITC to make a presentation on its existing programs.

DITC & African Athletics Confederation (AAC) of IAAF Sign Agreement

Hyderabad, India (October 31, 2003)
During the 1st AFRO-ASIAN Games in Hyderabad (India), Colonel Hamad KALKABA Malboum, President, African Athletics Federation (AAC), President, Cameroon National Olympic Committee and Dr. Marc Daniel GUTEKUNST signed an Agreement between AAC and the DITC. Ambassador Andrew YOUNG could not attend the Games and signed later the Agreement. The Ceremony was attended by the AAC Executive Board Members, and most of the African DITC Founding Members: Rwanda, Mali, Burkina Faso, São Tomé & Principé, Seychelles, Burundi, and Eritrea.

Hyderabad, India (October 24, 2003 - Nov 1, 2003)
The DITC was the only US Training Center to be officially invited by the Indian Olympic Association to attend the 1st AFRO-ASIAN Games held in Hyderabad, India. While in Hyderabad, Dr. GUTEKUNST was hosted by the Indian Olympic Committee, and attended along with other members of the Olympic family all 5 venues, including the 1st class closing Ceremonies. It was the shared feeling of so many, that India is ready to host the Olympic Games. During the AAG further consolidated the DITC relationship with 22 African NOCs and one Middle Eastern country.

The DITC participated in the preparation of the Meeting and also made a financial contribution to the WOA Africa Office presided by Amadou DIA BA.

9th IAAF World Athletics Championships

Paris, France (August 23 - 31, 2003)
The DITC was invited as a special Guest of the IAAF family to attend the World Championships. On August 30, 2003 Prince Albert of MONACO met with representative of 14 countries. It was a very pleasant exchange between those in attendance speaking about preparing their athletes for the 2004 Olympic Games. Colonel KALKABA shared his vision of the future of Track & Field in Africa.

Syndiely WADE, Special Advisor to President Abdoulaye WADE of Senegal visits Atlanta and the DITC. In addition to meeting the DITC Team, Ms. WADE met with Congresswoman Denise MAJETTE, US Senator Zell MILLER, CEO Vernon JONES, and others.

Dakar, Senegal (June 12, 2003)
Today at the Léopold Sedar SENGHOR Stadium in Dakar, a very special ceremony was held for the passing of the African Athletics Baton from Mr. Lamine DIACK, IAAF President and IOC Member, to Colonel Malboum KALKABA Hamad, President of Cameroon Olympic Committee. Colonel KALKABA was elected in April to become President of the African Athletics Confederation (AAC). Mr. Lamine DIACK had held the position for 30 years. Mr. Birame THIAM, FNT International Board Member, and Dr. Marc Daniel GUTEKUNST were also in attendance at the ceremony.

Today in the Baron Pierre de COUBERTIN Conference Room at the International Committee (IOC) headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland; Dr. Pal SCHMITT, IOC Member and WOA President, Dr. Liston BOCHETTE, WOA Secretary General, and Dr. Marc Daniel GUTEKUNST, DITC CEO & Co-Founder of the DITC with HSH Prince Albert of MONACO, signed an Agreement between the WOA and the DITC.
