United States Congressman John LEWIS meets the ATLANTA DITC CEO and the COO

Congressman John LEWIS (Georgia’s 5th Congressional District) --  met with ATLANTA DITC CEO Dr. Marc-Daniel GUTEKUNST and ATLANTA DITC COO Herb EDWARDS. 

After a brief overview of ATLANTA DITC’s sponsored ATLANTA LEGACY NIGHT including the ATLANTA DITC PARSE Prize Ceremony during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
,

the discussion focused on the ATLANTA DITC Scholarship Appropriation that was part of the Omnibus Bill signed into law by President Bush on December 26, 2007,

as well as Congressman John LEWIS sponsored ATLANTA DITC Infrastructure Appropriation request ($1,000,000.00) for the John H. Lewis SAC at Morris Brown College
used for the ATLANTA DITC Team Handball Program.  This 2009 Appropriation request sponsored by Congressman John LEWIS should be part of the this year’s FY 2010 Omnibus Bill to be submitted to the President.  

Herb EDWARDS presented a number of ATLANTA DITC programs that are still in the pre-launching phase.  And again, Congressman John LEWIS graciously offered his full support. 

Dr. GUTEKUNST thanked Congressman John LEWIS for his unflinching support of the ATLANTA DITC over the past 7 years.
