ATLANTA DITC Language included in Omnibus Bill passed by US Congress

Washington D.C., USA (December 18, 2007)

This was another landmark in the short history of the ATLANTA DITC.

Late today, the House and Senate appropriators filed an “omnibus” appropriations bill that includes fiscal year 2008 funding for all federal agencies (except those covered under the Defense Appropriations Act).

This package of bills includes language that reinforces the language secured by Senators Saxby CHAMBLISS and Johnny ISAKSON in the Senate-approved version of the State-Foreign Operations Appropriations bill.  The plan right now is to have the House vote on this legislation either tonight or tomorrow.  It will then be sent to the Senate, which will add on the Iraq war funding requested by the President.  The package will then come back to the House, which will hopefully clear for the President’s signature before the end of the week.  The President has not indicated yet whether he will sign or veto, but he is pretty much getting everything he’s asked for.
